Myojin Yamashita, Nijibu, Tabito Town, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture is the address of this place. No mobile phone except Docomo can be used here as it is outside of communication area. This homepage was opened in such remote countryside. About Mt. Myojin, they say that its sato-miya(shrine built in a village area) has the god named Ajisukitakanenohikonomikoto to worship, and its oku-miya(shrine built in a mountain area) has the goddess named Takiri-hime, the former god's mother, to worship. Both of them are from Izumo Province. Also, It seems that initially Sakanoueno Tamuramaro, a great general, enshrined Otaka/Daikou-maru, an enemy general. The local people familiarize theirselves with him calling Otaka/Daikou-maru sama or Take-myojin. In that mountain shrine, from several years before the Great Tohoku Earthquake, animal figures like foxes of the Inari-jinja with pointed ears started to appear gradually as if as a warning. There is an Amida-do(Amitabha hall) in the foot of Mt. Myojin, and by the Amida-do a stone monument is buried. Its aboveground length is more than one meter. The date inscribed on it says it was erected in Genbun 5(1740). Sengoku period(period of warring states in Japan)! On the stone monument, also Namuroku-jizoson, a name of jizo(guardian bodhisattva) is written.
